The Department of Business Studies organized a research workshop entitled “Stepping into Research: Some Basic Notions” on May 11, 2017.

The said research workshop which was divided into two sessions was led and delivered by Dr. Muhammad Faisal Aziz and Mr. Asif Mahmood. The basic concepts in research were explained in the first session while the use of SPSS software to input and the code to do descriptive statistical analysis were discussed in the second session. Dr. Faizal presented the basic concepts of research in the area of business and behavioral science, aiming to improve the research environment in Ibri College of Technology.

The workshop kicked off from the basic techniques such as ways to write a review paper, concepts of descriptive research and types of descriptive research. The last part of the workshop carried out a practical training on SPSS to the faculty members. Data coding and several statistical tools were also explained to the audience.

SME-Development Fund in collaboration with college of technologies, conducted its first campus training sessions in its scheduled series of training in IBRICT on 8th and 9th of May,2017 in Multipurpose Hall from 8a.m to 4 p.m. On behalf of the college, the training was organised by Mr. Manikandan Sathyamoorthy, The coordinator of the Entrepreneurship Committee of the BSD. The target audience of the training was students who are currently studying entrepreneurship course across all the departments. There were 260 students in all. There were four sessions on each day of the training, and every section of students is required to attend a minimum of two sessions.

Business Studies Department of IBRICT has participated in an Inter Collegiate Management Meet, titled as Synergy 2K’17 organized by the Business Department of Shinas College of Technology on 30th January, 2017, Monday. The various competitions in the meet were Business Quiz, Best Manager AD zap. Our college was represented in the business quiz by Ms. Amira Khamis Hamed Almajrafi, Ms. Thuraya Dhaboun Khalfan Al Majrafi, Ms.Kareemah Ali Saeed Al Kalbani.

Ms. Arwa Saif Salim Alnazwani, Ms. Khulood Saeed Mohammed Al Zaidi, have competed in the best Manger category.

Ms. Mezoon Said Hamed AL Bloushi , Ms. Tharwa Said Alshukili, and Ms. Lujain Khalifa Ali AL Majrafi have participated in Ad Zap where they tested to bring out their best advertisement designing abilities.

The team were accompanied by Ms. Manjula V, the faculty in charge of the business society of the BSD department.

The Business Studies Department conducted an induction program dubbed as “Specialization Choice” at the Lecture Theater of Ibri College of Technology last November 29, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. The event aims to guide students in selecting course specialization based on their innate skills.
