BSD Inaugurates Placement Cell

Mr. Younus Al Za’abi (ADAA) along with Mr. Ahmed Al Mamari, (Head, Counselling and Graduates Follow-up) inaugurated the activities of the Placement Cell (PC) Department constituted by the Alumni Follow-up and OJT committee of the Business Studies Department (BSD) on November 3,2016 in the Main Building. The Cell was formed with certain objectives and planned actions to achieve those objectives.

Mr. Younus Al Za’abi (ADAA) along with Mr. Ahmed Al Mamari, (Head, Counselling and Graduates Follow-up) inaugurated the activities of the Placement Cell (PC) Department constituted by the Alumni Follow-up and OJT committee of the Business Studies Department (BSD) on November 3,2016 in the Main Building. The Cell was formed with certain objectives and planned actions to achieve those objectives.

The Objectives of the Placement Cell (PC) are to:

  • Create awareness among students regarding available career opportunities and help them in identifying their career objectives
  • Empower students with lifelong career related decision-making skills and upgrade them to commensurate with industry expectations
  • Groom students in developing skills and job-search strategies required to achieve their career objectives
  • Identify suitable potential employers and help them achieve their hiring goals
  • Organize activities concerning career planning
  • Act as a connecting link between students, alumni and employers
  • Take feedback from industry and provide inputs for curriculum

The Training Activities of the Placement Cell (PC) are the following:

  • Skill development Workshops
  • Mock Interviews
  • Career Counselling
  • Personality development Sessions
  • Proactive Industry linkage

Mr. Younus Al Za’abi appreciated the initiative of BSD and expressed his views on Career cell. He opined that this would add value to students’ learning by developing their soft skills, in addition, to curriculum based education. On behalf of the Counselling and Graduates Follow-up Department, Mr. Ahmed Al Mamri, wished success to the team and urged the team to ensure full participation and inclusion of all students who seeks placement supports.

Mr. Younus Al Za’abi appreciated the efforts of the organizers, Ms. Syeda Zubaida Hashmi, Mr. Arun Kumar and Mr. Bijja Viswanath. Dr. Shaik Mastan Valli, Head of BSD said that the cell is keen to alert students on prospective job opportunities and reciprocate positively with all career related needs of students. The event was graced with the active participation of the BSD staff.

A special note of thanks was also given to the timely efforts of the ETC members Mr. Shameer KPO, Ms. Hanan and Ms. Buthaina for designing and printing the banner and posters.
