Prof. Carol Evans

Abstract
Professor Evans will firstly highlight the importance of an integrated team approach to research and education. Secondly, she will focus on what constitutes high quality pedagogical research and the importance of team development to support shared understandings of quality. Lastly, she will share insights from her various roles in developing pedagogical research capacity at scale and key learning points from her role as Editor-in- Chief of Higher Education Pedagogies journal.
Bio-note
Carol is a global leader in research-informed inclusive assessment practices and pedagogy. Before moving back to the UK, Professor Evans was Pro Vice-Chancellor (Learning and Teaching) at Griffith University (Australia) and recent positions she has held prior to that include Chair of Higher Education and Academic Lead of HEFi at the University of Birmingham, and Professor and Co-Director of Southampton’s Centre for Higher Education. She is currently a non-executive board member at the University of Bournemouth, an honorary visiting professor at Cardiff University and professorial fellow at the University of Southampton in addition to being editor-in-chief of Higher Education Pedagogies. She is an avid researcher and her most recent work focuses on disability inclusion for Transforming Access and Student Outcomes (TASO).
