BSD holds “Specialization Choice” induction program

The Business Studies Department conducted an induction program dubbed as “Specialization Choice” at the Lecture Theater of Ibri College of Technology last November 29, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. The event aims to guide students in selecting course specialization based on their innate skills.
Dr. Ashok Kumar Patnaik, specializations coordinator, welcomed the audience, faculty members and speakers. He presented an overview of various specializations such as marketing, accounting and human resource offered in the Business Studies Department. Moreover, Dr. Ashok focused on the marketing specialization subjects in different levels and its career opportunities. He also gave his insights about the personality traits required for a student who opt for marketing specialization.
Dr. Quadir Mohiuddin, a course expert, presented the different functions of human resource department, personality development facilities offered by the HR club to the HR specialization students and HR job opportunities available in Omani companies.
Dr. Surendar, also a course expert, discussed the importance of accounting in a business organization, different types of accounting courses, different accounting subjects offered in diploma-2, advance diploma and bachelor level courses. He also highlighted the job opportunities available for accounting students.
Finally, Dr. Ashok Kumar handled the question and answer session. Mr. Jay Kumar supported the planning and implementation of the event.
