The Staff Development Committee of the Engineering Department, organized a presentation on “FLOW ANOMALIES AND ITS VALIDATION FOR INCOMPRESSIBLE FLUID FLOW” on 7 October 2021, 1 PM to 2 PM.

Mr. Arthur Davis gave an overview on the flow measurement techniques and its related anomalies for practical applications. He explained the reasons for anomalies both in digital and analog mode during flow measurements.  The presentation highlighted the causes for the inconsistency in the flow measurements through digital and analogue meters.

A case study for Ibri Water Distribution Network was explained to validate the flow anomalies existing in the distribution network.  He also discussed the reason for the approximated water meter readings and highlighted the importance of a periodic calibration to reduce the flow anomalies.

The presentation attended by 25 faculty members who received and felt that the programme was useful and effective.
