In the Engineering Department of the college, staff development programmes are being conducted in an enthusiastic way. As a regular series of STAFF DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES, the Research and Consultancy Committee, in conjunction with the Staff Development Committee, organised a seminar on the topic RESEARCH SCOPE ON SMART CITY.

  The date and venue of the presentation was 23 October 2018, B001 (Free Access Lab), Engineering Building. The research person-cum-speaker was Dr V Ilankumaran, HoS, Engineering Department, Ibri College of Technology.

The presentation was in the form of class room seminar, and included the topics of research on Smart Waste Management, Security, Digital Kiosks, Smart Street Light, Open Data Initiates, Pollution-free Climate Monitoring, and Social Impact. In addition to these topics, in the seminar, information on TRC call for research proposals on Smart City was also provided. The participants were staff of the Engineering Department. After the presentation of the above-mentioned topics, fruitful discussions were held between participants and the speaker. The presentation motivated the participating staff to carry out research work in the area of SMART CITY and the related areas. At the end of programme, the speaker received compliments on the presented seminar, along with requests for more similar seminars in future.
