Writing a Research Article using a Reference Management System

The SDC and RCC, Engineering Department, conducted a workshop on “WRITING A RESEARCH ARTICLE USING A REFERENCE MANAGEMENT SYSYTEM” on 15 June 2020 from 10 to 11 am. Dr Divakara Shetty A S (Member of RCC, Engineering Department) conducted the workshop with the objective of creating awareness among the faculty members about the structure of the research article and the importance of publishing a research article in high-impact factor journals. The participants were trained to understand various methods of identifying the quality of the journal. The speaker also explained the importance of different data management systems such as the Scopus Index and Web of Science. The different journals such as ISI, SCI, SSCI and Scopus indexes were explained to the participants.  The reference management software called Mendeley was explained by the speaker with live examples. The different methods of importing research articles to Mendeley library also were demonstrated by the speaker in a very effective way. The staff members felt that the presentation was very useful and effective.
