The Professional Development Committee of the English Language Centre organized two ELT presentations on Thursday, December 14, 2017. The first guest speaker Dr Muna Saif AlKalbani, assistant professor Arab Open University Oman gave a presentation on one of the most challenging aspects of English language teaching in Oman: Students Motivation.
It was an interactive session where teachers shared their personal experiences regarding the challenge and exchanged ideas to keep the learners’ motivation level high. The second guest speaker was Dr Halima Benzoukh (an associate professor at Kasdi Merbah University -Algeria) who joined the audience through video link and presented on the topic entitled “Listening in EFL Classes: Difficulties and Solutions” Both sessions provided great opportunity to all teachers at the ELC to share ideas and teaching experiences with their colleagues and the guests and also learn from others experience and knowledge.
