Autonomous Learning During COVID19 for Higher Education in Egypt

The outbreak of COVID 19 has affected all walks of life. It has also changed our educational system altogether. Today, we have moved to the virtual classrooms. Education is now more student oriented. On 6th January, 2021, Yomna ElHossary in a webinar discussed how she has tried a new way of delivering linguistic content to her students, and how she made it more engaging and enjoyable. She did this with the help of presentations, projects and even integrating social media platforms like TikTok. 

Yomna ElHossary is an instructor of Linguistics at Applied Language Programme, in Alexandria University. She has attended pre-doctoral training in Applied Linguistics and SLT at Trinity College, Dublin. She is a PhD researcher in Computational Linguistics. She has a number of publications in the field of Applied Linguistics.

Towards the end of the webinar, Dr Abdusalam, the Head of Center, and Mr Faisal Shamali expressed words of gratitude and thanked Yomna ElHossary for sharing her experiences.
