Training on Industrial automation with Siemens PLC systems

The Engineering society of the Engineering department, organized Training program titled “Training on industrial automation with Siemens PLC systems” on three consecutive Sunday’s dated 20th, 27th February and 6th March 2022 at 12 PM to 2:00 PM. The program session addressed by Mr.Jayasankar Srilla, Instructor, Department of Engineering, University of Technology and Applied Sciences-Ibri.

In his presentation, he started with the explanation of basic concepts of PLC (Programmable Logic controllers) systems, job opportunities in the Automated industries and different job roles in the industries. He explained, how the PLC systems playing a vital role to automate the different electrical and electronic systems. He started with Ladder programming concepts theoretically in the first day session. 

In the second day session, he started with explaining how to create a project using TIA portal V11 software to write a ladder program. He started using bit logic operations to control a conveyor belt in forward and backword direction using PLC S7 300 system. And the students were learned and practiced the same. 

In the third day session, he started explaining about Timer operations to create a project using TIA portal V11 software to write a ladder program. He started using Timer and counter logic operations to count the number of objects which is passing through conveyor belt using PLC S7 300 system. And the students were learned and practiced the same.

 The session was very interactive, students participated in the discussions. The students felt that the training was very much useful and effective. Totally 4 students were participated.
