Report on Industrial Visit to DIAM (Public Authority for Water) on 8 December 2022

This report is about the industrial visit taken by a group of 22 students and a teaching staff from Mechanical and Industrial Engineering section on 08-12-2022. The students were taken to DIAM (Maintenance Section, SCADA Control Room & Pumping Station) located in Ibri (Maintenance Section, SCADA Control Room) and Dhank (Storage & Distribution Control). We were able to observe the various Fluid Mechanics, Hydraulics and Pneumatics facility and processes in action, as well as have a better understanding of how these systems work. The staff at the facility were incredibly helpful in explaining the different components and their functions. Furthermore, our student interactions with them were also very positive and informative. This visit gave us a great insight into how these systems are used in industry, as well as providing practical knowledge that can be applied to our studies. The visit provided invaluable insights into the practical aspects of industrial operations which can be applied in their future endeavors.
