Reduction of Electricity Bill with the use of a Solar PV System. Research and Consultancy Committee

The Research and Consultancy Committee of Engineering Department organized a program on Solar PV system which has a title as “Reduction of Electricity Bill with the use of a Solar PV System” on 9th February 2023 (Thursday) between 1.30 to 2.30 PM. Dr Sharmila Dev Venkatachalam, Lecturer, Engineering Department has delivered the presentation. She started her presentation with an introduction about solar PV system and its categories. Then, she discussed about different types of solar panels and their distinct features. Then, she briefed about the parameters that affect the efficiency of a roof top solar PV systems. then, she extensively elaborated about different tariff plan which is associated with on grid solar PV system. Finally, she concluded the session with a small calculation about “per day consumption” of the home appliances. The session is very interactive and staff wee participated with much enthusiasm.
