Report on Industrial Visit to Synergies Casting LLC, Sohar

Mr Ali Salem Saleh Al Alawi, OJT Coordinator from UTAS-Ibri, including 18 students from Engineering Department, Mechanical section, and faculty member Dr.V.Sivananth, visited Synergies Casting LLC on 15.11.2023. The visit started at 10.am with a brief presentation about the company and their market scenarios for automobile alloy wheels in Oman. The company's maintenance manager briefed the students on six segments available for creating wheels. Aluminum alloy melting and low pressure die casting along with quenching process facilities explained by the in-charge of the melting segment. The students then visited machining, where CNC machines used robots to perform the machining tasks. After that, students visited the segment that deals with heat treatment, painting, and packaging. The visit helped the students to understand the industry expectation and the skills required by the students for the job market.
