The Staff Development Committee of the Engineering Department organized a programme on simulation and analysis using ANSYS on 19 April 2018 from 1.45pm to 2.45pm.

Dr V Sivananth, Lecturer, Mechanical Section, Engineering Department, delivered a presentation on ANSYS. He started his presentation with the application of ANSYS, in various fields such as mechanic, electric and also in electronics.  He also explained the effective use of this modelling software to create simulations in fluid movement and temperature distribution during a process. Testing the durability of a product was also explained clearly.

He described the various stages of ANSYS modelling such as pre-processing, meshing and post-processing to obtain the exact required simulations for the analysis. A brief explanation was also given about the Finite Element Method which is the backbone of ANSYS.

This programme was well received by the staff and highly beneficial to the participants.
