Training programme on Microwaves and Antennas
The Staff Development Committee of the Engineering Department organised a training programme on “Microwaves and Antennas, Machines and Drives”
on 9 October 2018 from 12.15pm to 01.45pm.
Mr Ayman Khattar from LD-DIDACTIC, Germany, conducted the programme.
The programme started with a brief introduction of the company LD-DIDACTIC, followed by a training session for the digitalisation of laboratory and experimentation work.
A clear demonstration was given on digitalisation procedures, from the fundamental concept to the final controlling of the process or machines, with an example from an existing experiment in the Electrical Engineering section.
The trainer also explained the use of Power Analyser, CASSY, for reducing the practical difficulties of variable capacitances in an overhead transmission lines.
He discussed the details of the interfacing of electrical machines in the laboratory with Power Analyser CASSY, so that parameters like torque, current, voltage and reactive power behaviour of electrical machines can be easily monitored and recorded on student’s laptops or personal computers.
The programme was well received by the staff and highly beneficial to the participants and students.
