Orientation Programme on Fire Extinguishers Demonstration and Fire Safety

Mr S. Manikandan and Dr V. Alfred Franklin explained the classification and application of firefighting equipment to the First-Year engineering students. First aid to be followed in case of emergency was also presented. This event was held in the Mechanical Drawing Hall (B112) and the Electrical Workshop (B004A) in the Engineering department from 8am to 08.30am. Practical training was given to the students by the technicians, Mr B. Shankar, and Mr R. Sathyendran, and few students practiced firefighting procedures.
