Training programme on “Updates on advising”

 The Registration Committee, along with the Staff Development Committee of the Engineering Department, organised a training programme on “Updates on advising” on 8 November 2018 from 1.30 to 2.30pm.

Dr Geetha and Mr Raghupathy, registration coordinators, Engineering Department, conducted the programme.

The speakers presented the criteria updates in advising courses to students, and criteria to be considered while advising third and fourth probation students. A detailed discussion was held on conducting advisees’ meetings as per the advising policy, which has to be recorded in the AMS and, awareness was given on the advising-related policy.

Based on the presentation, much clarification was provided by the advisors. All the clarification issues were addressed. This will help advisors to plan the advising courses according to the rules, and in turn will help the students to plan their studies.

This programme was well received by the staff and highly beneficial to the participants.
