ANSYS SOFTWARE ONLINE TRAINING

The Staff Development Committee of the Engineering Department organised an online training session on “Ansys Software” between 18 and 22 October. Mr Mohammed Waseem and Mr Philippe Lott from Fluid Codes LLC. Dubai delivered the presentation for the benefit of the staff members. They gave a general introduction about Ansys Software and its application to solve real time problems. Mr Waseem presentation mainly focused on the structural analysis of a simply supported beam to explore the software tools. The participants were trained to understand modelling using space claim and the import options from other modelling software. He also explained about assigning material properties, meshing and boundary conditions to perform the simulation. Mr Philippe presentation focused on CFD and its related tools available in the software. He compared the software results and analytical results to highlight the software accuracy. The staff members felt that the presentation was very much useful and effective.
