The E-learning Committee of the Engineering Department organised a presentation titled “Exploring E-learning Moodle for Effective Assessment and Grading” on 1 November 2020 from 10:30 to 11:30 am through MS Teams. Dr Prasanna Venkatesh Dhayanithi explained grading the exercise sheets/log reports of labs submitted by the students in the E-learning Moodle. He explained checking the reports without taking printouts or hard copies. He also showed how corrected files would be shared with the students in E-learning Moodle.

The presenter also explained setting up the question bank and generating the random questions. Setting up the question bank helps to easily conduct the quizzes, midterm and final examinations in the forthcoming semesters. Random question paper generation helps to create different combinations of questions and it also saves a lot of time setting up the restricted access in Moodle. This random question paper is a handy tool particularly for the online midterm examination, which would be conducted after two weeks. A sample midterm pattern was considered and demonstrated clearly to explain the concepts in detail.
