On behalf of the staff at the English Language Centre at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Ibri, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our website. The English Language Centre runs intensive Foundation and Post-Foundation language courses for more than 1700 students. The ELC has more than 55 well-qualified lecturers from almost 20 countries. English is the language of instruction at UTAS Ibri and the ELC helps you get equipped with the linguistic abilities to complete your specialization successfully.

Your success depends on your active participation and engagement in the learning process inside and outside the classroom. Student-centred learning approaches, which have proven to be effective in language learning, require active engagement, hard work and self-study.

The ELC has state-of-the-art facilities for students, including modern classrooms, the Self-Access Centre (SAC), self-access labs and self-study rooms.

You are highly encouraged to participate in the extra-curricular activities organized by English Society including Speaking Café, Writing Centre, peer tutoring, the Speech Competition, cultural days and many others.
