The OJT Committee of the Department of Business Studies organised an industrial visit to the Chamber of Commerce, Ibri on 15 February 2018, for HR students with the purpose of imparting practical insights into HR planning and Business opportunities in Oman. Faculty members Mr. Bijja Vishwanath, Mr. Bijja Srinivas and Mr. Sayed Akram Pasha accompanied the students.

The visit began with a formal introduction of students with staff and working in different sections of the Chamber of Commerce. Mr Ismail Saif Salem Al Shmali Director, Chamber of Commerce, briefed students with vision and objectives of the organization. Later, the students were given a detailed PowerPoint presentation on the Sultanate of Oman’s HR plans, recruitment procedures, governments plans and policies for self-employment, and sustainable development. The students enthusiastically interacted with Mr Ismail Saif Salem and got their queries clarified and expressed satisfaction towards Government plans.

An industrial visit to Suhail Bahwan Automobiles was organized for diploma and advanced diploma students, by the Industrial Link Committee.

Fifteen students and two faculty members from the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Section visited Suhail Bahwan on 19 November, 2017 from 9:30 to 12:00.

Mr. Srinu Satrabonia, Service Manager, welcomed the staff and students, introduced the car-servicing plant, and gave a brief introduction about service activities.

On Thursday 12 October 2017, a member of the Industrial Link committee, Ibri College of Technology (Ibrict) visited ITA, Al Khoud with a group of 13 students. The objective of the visit was to establish links in specifically the following areas:

  • Technology Awareness 
  • Student Training
  • Entrepreneurship/Incubation
  • Job Opportunities
  • Projects
  • Expert Talk

Ms. Ameera, Senior Project Specialist from ITA, welcomed the group for a tour to three main centres – SAS Entrepreneurship, SAS Mob, SAS VR for a tour of each centre.
