HIGH VOLTAGE ENGINEERING CLASS CONDUCTS LABORATORY EXERCISES AT MAJAN ELECTRIC COMPANY

The High Voltage Engineering Class composed of 19 students under Mrs. Lizette Ivy C. Pascual, together with Lab Technicians, Mr. Mahmood Khamis Saif Khamis Al-Nasseri and Mr. Hamed Saud Hamed Al-Khalili, went to Majan Electric Company in Souq, Ibri on 4 December 2022, to conduct two Laboratory Exercises. As of this semester, the High Voltage Engineering Laboratory has not been sufficiently equipped. In order to facilitate the practical learning experience of the students, with the assistance and generosity of Majan Electricity Company, they accommodated the group to give lectures on Distribution System operations, common equipment and facilities like Ring Main Units and Industrial Substations, and conduction of Insulation Resistance Tests for Three-Phase Underground Cables and Three-Phase Power Transformers. It is educational and beneficial for the students to see with their own eyes what some electrical equipment and devices look like as compared to merely looking at them in photos and videos.
