The Risk Management Committee of the Engineering Department organized a programme on Preventive Maintenance on Machines, on 04 March 2018 from 09.30am to 11.00am.
Dr Raj. Thirumavalavan, Lecturer, Engineering Department, conducted the program. The programme started with a brief introduction about the need and importance of preventive maintenance on machines by Dr K. Elangovan, HOS, Mechanical and Industrial Engineering section.
This awareness programme focused on the importance of preventive maintenance over reactive maintenance on lab machinery. The speaker also explained the need of preventive maintenance to avoid the breakdown of machines which may result in loss.
The speaker also explained preventive maintenance scheduling procedures that are already followed in the department and improvement suggestions were shared among participants. The speaker also introduced new sample preventive maintenance templates for scheduling periodic maintenance.
This programme was well received by the staff and highly beneficial to the participants.
