Android/iPhone App Development using MIT App Inventor
Mr. Someshvar Vashisht (lecturer, IT Department) conducted a three-day workshop on “Android/iPhone App Development using MIT App Inventor” which concluded on 23rd June 2021.
The three apps were built during these three days:
- Speaking Sum App: The participants learned to make forms, data validation, mathematical operations, convert text to speech, use of Accelerometer sensor and Proximity sensor.
- Child/Object tracker: The participants learned how to use GPS (location) sensor, geofencing the irregular areas on the map, Map components, automatic phone calling feature (GSM module in Mobile), etc.
- 3. Addition Speed Tester: The users learned to connect the app to a web Database and then submit responses of all app users in the database. The app also showed their rank based on how fast they gave the correct answer. It was a kind of world cup as anyone, anywhere in the world with the app could participate.
Additional study material and case studies were given to give them more practice.
Special thanks to Mr. Dilwar Mazumdar for supporting me in handling participants’ queries during all three days of the workshop.
