Student’s Participation in ACIHA- 2021 Symposium

The Information Technology Department is proud to announce that five of its Bachelor level students have participated in the online Symposium on Advances in Computational Intelligence and Heuristic Applications (), which was organised by UTAS-Al Mussanah on 10 and 11 November 2021. 

The symposium highlighted the most recent exploration of research innovation and applications of algorithms intended for optimisation applications within the fields of Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, and Mathematics.

The participants presented two papers. The first was presented by Ms Aisha Hamdan Al Risi, Ms Rahma Rashid Al Waailli and Mr Mohammed Yaqoob Al Shaaili, on Low-Cost Smart Poultry Farming Based on IoT. The research paper proposed an intelligent system that can provide a healthy environment for poultry production. The second contribution was presented by Ms Salma Al Marshoudi and Ms Jahan Al Mandhari on Smart Gate for Car Parking. The students proposed a physical security approach to protect the car park from being accessed by unauthorised people.

The two research presented in the symposium received positive feedback from the session chair and the attendees.
