Oman Collegiate Programming Contest (OCPC) is a team based programming contest conducted by Sultan Qaboos University on 30th and 31st of October 2022. The objective of OCPC is to test student’s abilities under tight constraints. The purpose of the contest is to foster creativity, teamwork, and innovation in building new software programs, and enables students to test their ability to perform under pressure. Given a time of five hours with 12 problems to solve using any programming language (C++ / Java / Python). The first day of the event started with inauguration ceremony chaired by His Highness The MOTCIT (Minister of Transport Communications and Information Technology), The Dean of SQU, delegates from sponsors, event organizers. TO ensure the working environment, a two-hour training/practice sessions was given to team participants. The second day was the official contest for five hours.

Two Teams (LitBit and AJY.PY) from Information Technology Department UTAS-Ibri were nominated for this competition. A total of 52 teams from four countries (Oman, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Kuwait) participated in this competition.

The IT Department is glad to inform you that the team LitBit bagged first place (Gold medal) by solving highest number of problems. A big congratulation to the Team Members Mr.Said, Mr.Saif and Mr.Nizzar. Besides, a prize money of 3000 Omani rials, this team qualified to participate in ACPC2022 expected to be held from 2nd December to 5th December 2022 in Sharm A'Sheikh, Egypt.
