The QA Committee of IT department organized a workshop on “Creating Surveys using Google Forms” on 5th October 2017 at 1:40 pm in Lab-1. The objective of the programme was to create an awareness about Google Forms and its usage.

Dr. Antony Kishore, Math Lecturer, conducted the workshop. He started with an introduction about Google Forms and the three different steps in conducting an online survey. He further highlighted that, google forms are associated with a google account for the creator of the survey and the respondents need not sign in to take up a survey.

Moreover, Google Forms can manage event registrations, create a quick opinion poll, and much more. Google Forms can be used to create and analyze surveys in the mobile phone or web browser and no special software is required for the same. Instant results can be obtained as they come in. The survey results can be summarized at a glance with charts and graphs. The three stages are: Creating the form with questions, Accepting the responses, and Analyzing results. The speaker explained each of the stages in detail. The participants had a hands-on experience by creating surveys themselves. The participants asked various doubts and they were explained by the speaker. Finally, Dr. Shanmugarathinam, Coordinator - Media/Newsletter/ Social/Staff Development Committee delivered the vote of thanks.

The session was very useful and interactive. Twenty-seven (27) faculty members of various departments participated in the workshop and benefitted out of it.

A mean score of 4.44 was obtained in the feedback for the program.
