Educational Apps Workshop

The Information Technology Department, through the Staff Development Committee, conducted a programme called Educational Apps Workshop on Thursday, 29 November 2018, in Lab A118B. The speaker for the event was Ms Khaloud Al Makharoumi, a lecturer at Ibri College of Applied Sciences. 

The objectives of this programme were: 

1. to create awareness about educational apps;

2. how to incorporate these apps in our daily teaching; and

3. to demonstrate educational apps in the workshop.

During the presentation, the speaker emphasised the following significant points: 

      1. The speaker demonstrated the different educational apps practically.

2. The speaker explained the latest apps available for use in the educational sector. 

The speaker started her presentation with a definition of Mobile Learning. She explained the advantages of Mobile Learning with examples. She continued her presentation by explaining the different educational apps such as Class DOJO, Plickers, Zip Grade, Padlet, Kahoot, and Twitter. This workshop helped staff members to get a better understanding of these apps. Finally, the speaker was acknowledged on behalf of HoD, Information Technology, by the HoS, Mathematics. The event ended at11.50am and staff members benefitted from the event. The workshop achieved a feedback score of 4.21.
