ELC holds Academic Advising and Counselling Orientation Program

The English Language Centre conducted a two-day orientation program on academic advising and counselling at the VIP Room of Ibri College of Technology on October 9 and October 10, 2017.

The first session comprised of 28 students from levels 3 and 4 while the following session was attended by 48 students from levels 1 and 2. The said attendees were chosen according to their academic performance and attendance last semester.

Mr. Abdullah Al Balushi, Academic Advising and Counselling Coordinator, spearheaded the said activity. According to him, he initiated this activity to assist the students in improving their study habits. He also said that this program aims to enlighten the students on the significance of studying in preparation for their future.

The said event is part of the ELC educational program that aims to identify issues affecting the performance of academically-challenged students and to provide appropriate intervention for students’ academic issues.
