The e-Learning committee of the Engineering department organized a presentation “Effective usage of smartboards” on 18 January 2018 from 12.00 noon to 1pm in the AutoCAD lab of the Engineering Department, Ibri College of Technology. This program is aimed at creating awareness about various advantages of Smartboard and also to enable staff to utilize smartboard effectively and efficiently.
The Health and Safety committee of Ibri College of Technology, in association with the National Medical Emergency Care Forum 2018, Ministry of Health, organized an emergency care program on 6 December 2017. Mr Nasir Hammad Al-Azri, Medical Consultant, was the resource person for this program. He presented the procedures of emergency care activities in various circumstances like chocking (adults and babies), fire burn injure, fractures, and minor injuries.
The Ibri College of Technology Engineering Department conducted its regular On-the-Job Training (OJT) Orientation Program on 24 January 2018, 11:00, at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Engineering Building. The program is for Engineering Students who are undergoing OJT in various companies in Oman for Semester 2, AY 2017-2018.
The OJT is an important requirement for Engineering Students to earn their Diploma wherein they are dispatched to companies related to their specializations (Electrical Power, Electronics, and Mechanical Engineering) in order for them to gain valuable actual, hands-on, practical experience that will enhance their confidence, knowledge, and skills.
The Professional Development Committee in coordination with the E-Learning Committee, ELC organized a training workshop on" Using Smart board in the Classroom for ELT" on the 25th January 2018 in Free Access Lab (Engineering Building) Mr. Mahmood Al Hosni (Acting Director for Teaching and Learning Technologies at Modern College- Muscat) conducted the training.
The Professional Development Committee, ELC organized a “Best Practices and Teaching Tips" session for the ELC Staff on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at 12:20 pm in the VIP Room. The head of the committee welcomed all with a brief summary about the activities of the committee.
The English Language Centre-Academic Advising Council conducted a workshop on "Self Study Skills" on January 17th 2018 at Ibri College of Technology.
Mr. Abdullah Al Balushi, ELC-Academic Advising Coordinator, spearheaded the said workshop. He said that the program aims to improve the “self-study skills” of foundation students (Jan 2018 Patch) in and outside the four walls of the classroom.
The Professional Development Committee in coordination with E-Learning Committee, ELC, organized a two-day training of the nominated teachers of all levels on MyELT Platform. The training was conducted by Mr. Baha Zaki( ELC Staff member)The training was on Wednesday on the 17th January 2018 (Level 3& 4) and on Sunday on the 21st January 2108 (Level 1& 2) Those nominated trainee will be responsible for sharing the knowledge with the rest of level colleagues.
The English Language Center awarded the top scorers from the Foundation and the Post Foundation programs for Semester 1, on January 16, 2018 in its first award ceremony. The ceremony was held in the VIP room at 12:pm. Shaikh Abdul Aziz Al Bulushi was the chief guest.
High achievers from Levels 1, 2, 3, 4, Technical Writing I, Technical Writing II, Technical Communication and Public Speaking were awarded certificates and presents. Students who took part in National Day celebrations were also recognized.
A second Electrical and Electronics Engineering Project Orientation Meeting was held last on 29 November 2017, 12:00, in the Multi-Purpose Hall. This programme is for those who are scheduled to register in EEPW 2399 and EEPW 3399 for Electrical Power Engineering students, and EETE 2399 and EETE 3399 for Electronics Engineering students, in the second semester 2017-2018.
The Health and Safety Committee of Ibri College of Technology, in association with Oman Al Khair Hospital LLC, Ibri, organized a first aid training programme on 14 December 2017.
