The Entrepreneurship Committee and College OJT committee organized the Exhibition on the eve of National Day of Oman Celebrations in Reception area in our college on 21st November 2017. It started at 09.00 a.m. and finished at 02.30 p.m. It was inaugurated by Mr. Ahmed Abdullah Nasser AlMarshoodi, Security officer in British Petroleum (BP),Sultanate of Oman in the presence of College Dean - Dr. Said Masoud Kashoob, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs - Mr.Younus Al Zaabi , College authorities, Teachers and Students.
The Risk Management Committee of the Engineering Department organized a program on PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE IN ELECTRICAL LABS Dec 24, 2017 from 1.30pm to 2.30pm.
Mr SRILLA JAYASANKAR, Instructor, Electrical and Electronics, conducted the program.
The Engineering Department, through the Engineering Registration Office, held the Orientation Program to guide Diploma Year 1 Engineering students on how to choose their preferred engineering specialization. The students were briefed on the scope of each Engineering specialization being offered in Ibri College of Technology and in the other Colleges of Technology.
Dr Geetha and Mr Ragupathi took turns on being the assigned speaker for each of the seven (7) sections of PHYS 1211 (College Physics 2) from 27 November to 14 December 2017, depending on the respective section’s laboratory class schedules at the Physics Laboratory (Room No. 1078).

The staff research and consultancy team of the English Language Centre organized three successive presentations on November 14, 2017, November 28, 2017 and December 12, 2017 respectively. Mr Mohammed Amir, lecturer, ELC, gave insightful lectures on “Sensationalized Representation of Fear in Pakistani English Newspapers: A Comparative Study through Transitivity Analysis.”
The English Language Centre at IbriCT is pleased to announce the publication of Dr. Alexander first book on “Writing Effective Sentence” The staff congratulate the author on the successful completion of his work and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
The Health and Safety Committee of Engineering Department organized a “Road Safety” awareness program on 23 November 2017 from 08.00am to 08.30am in hall number B108 and 10.00am to 10.30am in hall number B106 for the II Year Diploma students. The speaker of the program was Mr S. Manikandan and Dr Alfred Franklin explained the procedures and precautions to be taken while driving to create awareness on road safety and how to avoid road traffic accidents (RTA).
The third one-day workshop on "Scopes on Renewable Energy Systems and its Applications", (SORESA'17)" was organized by the Research and Consultancy Committee, Engineering Department. The workshop was held on 20 November 2017 from 10.00am to 01.00 pm at the Lecture Theatre of the Engineering Department.
The welcome address was delivered by Mr. Nasser Al Shammakhi, head of the Engineering Department. It was followed by a guest lecture. Dr. M Ramasamy, Technical Expert, Royal Court Affairs, Sultanate of Oman, delivered the guest lecture on Renewable Energy Applications with focus on Potential Applications of Solar Energy in Oman.
The ELC knows how to finish a semester in a style. That was obvious during the food festival organized by the Social Activities Committee. The event was held on December 14, 2017 in the V.I.P room at 12:00pm. The aim of this event was to foster good relationship among the staff.
ELC staff had end of semester meeting with HOC on 14 December, 2017, in the VIP Room. Dr. Sultan Al Ghafri, Hoc, discussed some important matters with the staff.
The Professional Development Committee of the English Language Centre organized two ELT presentations on Thursday, December 14, 2017. The first guest speaker Dr Muna Saif AlKalbani, assistant professor Arab Open University Oman gave a presentation on one of the most challenging aspects of English language teaching in Oman: Students Motivation.
